💡 How to understand this
Krishna is teaching Arjuna that prayer and meditation should be practiced regularly.
If you water a plant only once and then forget it, the plant will not grow well. If you water it a little every day, give it sunlight, and protect it, it slowly becomes strong.
The mind is also like that. If we pray only once in a while, the mind may not change much. But if we sit quietly every day, remember Bhagavān, and bring the mind back when it runs away, the mind slowly becomes peaceful.
Krishna says this peace should come from Bhagavān, not only from getting what we want. If we are peaceful only when we win, get praise, or get toys, that peace will go away quickly. But if we remember Bhagavān, we can stay stronger even when things do not happen exactly as we like.
📖 A story to remember — Riya had a small tulasī plant near the window. On the first day, she poured a whole cup of water and said, “Now it will grow big!”
The next day she forgot. Then she forgot again. After a few days, the leaves looked tired.
Her grandfather said, “Plants do not grow by one big watering. They grow by daily care.”
Riya felt sorry. From then on, every morning she gave a little water, checked the soil, and placed the plant where it could get sunlight. She did not see a big change on the first day. But after many days, new leaves came.
Grandfather said, “Your mind is like this too. One prayer is good, but regular prayer makes the mind strong.”
That evening, Riya sat for prayer. Her mind ran to her school project. She brought it back to Bhagavān. Then it ran to her friend. She brought it back again.
She smiled and thought, “I am watering my mind.”
That is Krishna’s teaching. Regular prayer and meditation help peace grow slowly inside.
🤔 Think about it
◈Can I sit for prayer a little every day, like watering a plant?
◈When my mind runs away, can I gently bring it back to Bhagavān?
